Black and glitter 2011 MTV Video Music Awards

Britney Spears on stage at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, wearing a black sequinned Moschino dress with black Gina boots. Britney won the lifetime achievement award and the Best Pop Video award, for Till the World Ends. Looking happy and healthy, Spears thanked her children Jayden and Sean and her management team, fans, and boyfriend Jason Trawick. On the right, co-host for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Selena Gomez also chose dark clothes by Julien MacDonald, but paired with some glitter - Brian Atwood gold pumps, Ofira gold accessories, and a shiny clutch by Judith Leiber. Selena said: "I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year." Some of the other fashionistas at the awards show:



JoJo Levesque in a black Marco Marco dress paired with black Penelope & Coco pumps. The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in LA, on Sunday night, August 28, 2011. Skinny but toned Zoe Saldana on the right, came to the show also dressed in black but with gold and silver detailing on her Barbara Bui Fall 2011 dress. Saldana paired her clothes with a black Lanvin clutch and Barbara Bui snakeskin sandals. Two girls with plenty of glitter are next:



Demi Lovato in a Mandalay metallic silver jewel encrusted dress, wearing matching silver jewelry, and Christian Louboutin pumps. Demi's forthcoming album, Unbroken, is due in stores on September 20. On the right, cute Victoria Justice gets some oomph in a Theia leather fringe cocktail dress, paired with gold and silver Rock and Republic heels. The 2011 Video Music Awards were the first for the Victorious star who is now 18.

Zoe Saldana killer looks

If looks could kill.....Zoe Saldana at the LA premier of her new movie Colombiana on August 24, 2011. The pretty 33-year old rocks a salmon-colored halter dress by Valentino, with a gathered waist and open lace back. Zoe pairs the leather dress with beige Christian Louboutin pumps and a cream Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. Matching the delicate colors of Saldana's clothes and shoes is the pretty Irene Neuwirth jewelry. In Colombiana, which opens this Friday, Zoe Saldana plays a killer who looks to avenge her parents' murder by a drug lord.



Zoe Saldana as the vengeful killer; the movie cashes in on her good looks and slim figure, with delicate curves in the right places. According to Shape magazine, Saldana used exercise balls and a resistance band to workout with fitness trainer Steve Moyer, for this role. The movie opens on September 9. The red Rachel Roy dress is from the Spring 2011 collection and has a fold detail with a thin gold belt at the waist. Cute and popular Nina Dobrev wearing Keira cut-off shorts and Gwyen Plaid Poplin rocky western shirt, both by True Religion, in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine. Right, Nina Dobrev looking every bit a pretty girl in a pink dress on the cover of Glamour Bulgaria (August 2011). The popular girl from The Vampire Diaries TV show is of Bulgarian heritage. The new season starts in Fall 2011, and Nina can be seen in the upcoming movie Arena with Kellan Lutz. Meanwhile Dobrev has been glamming it up on the red carpet:

Zooey Deschanel in Moschino

Zooey Deschanel at ArcLight Cinemas for the premiere of The Weinstein Company's Our Idiot Brother on August 16, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. In the movie releasing August 26, Deschanel stars as one of three sisters with Paul Rudd, who plays her "idiot brother". Her character shares a lesbian relationship with a lawyer played by Rashida Jones; the two girls also have a kissing scene. Rashida told Access Hollywood that it was: "Totally fun and slightly awkward only because Zooey and I have known each other for a really long time......But she's so pretty, she didn't make it that hard.”

At the premiere Zooey had her hair in a messy updo, with prominent eyelashes, and is wearing a two-toned crepe dress by Moschino. It has a ruffle at the waist, as well as a detachable black and white ruffle collar. Along with the Moschino dress, Zooey Deschanel is wearing matching black YSL pumps and is carrying Kilian Hennessy's Pearl Edition Clutch.

I realize now that mostly anywhere I go, I get recognized. The interesting thing is it's people of all ages, which goes to show you the power of TV. Teen icons Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez won big at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards (TCA). Taylor Swift, looking pretty in her Rafael Cennamo Spring 2011 RTW dress and bow-front pumps by Fendi Grosgrain, won five TCAs including favorite female artist, country singer and red carpet fashion icon. On stage the 21-year old Swift remarked: "It's been a long time since I was a teenager, like two years."



Selena Gomez with boyfriend Justin Bieber watching the show, with Swift seated nearby (the two girls are best friends). Selena is wearing a beautiful Julien Macdonald dress and Jerome C. Pretty actress Emma Stone outside ABC Studios in New York for "Good Morning America" on August 4, 2011, to promote her new movie The Help. It's a period drama that explores race relations in the South during the 1960s. Stone is wearing a gray ruched dress by L'Agence, paired with red Christian Louboutin pumps. Emma's last major movie role was in the romantic-comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love and her last successful movie was another comedy Easy A. Releasing August 10, The Help is a more serious role for Emma, and also a new look. She's a natural blonde, but sports a curly wig, and is wearing conservative 60s clothes.
