Gabrielle Union no satisfaction

Gabrielle Union is dating NBA player Dwyane Wade, is a successful actress, is beautiful and has a great body. But in the new JET Magazine Gabrielle says, "There are some things I personally want to improve upon in my own life. I'm working on personality and character traits that I know need to be tweaked. So yes, I do want more."

Union has many TV roles like Night Stalker (above left) and the time-travelling drama FlashForward, and she has upcoming movies like Body Politic, but says there's less satisfaction in the entertainment business because of too many actors chasing too few roles, which can cause unemployment. "When I think about what I was doing six months ago and if I had a FlashForward-like vision, I'd probably have seen a lot of unemployment."

Right photo, Gabrielle Union at the Essence 'Black Women in Music' event at the Sunset Tower Hotel on January 27, 2010 in West Hollywood, California. Despite her gorgeous body, 5'7.5" Gabrielle told Maxim magazine of her negative body image growing up: "I was always in the popular crowd, but I really had atrocious teeth. I was encouraged to 'do well in school, 'cause no one's going to marry you!'"

In actor Hill Harper's inspiring book Letters to a Young Sister Gabrielle Union says, "I started developing crushes on guys, but they'd wind up liking my friends over me. So I started to question why: 'Maybe it's my hair, maybe it's the size of my nose, maybe it's my skin color?'... I would put pillowcases on my head, or T-shirts, and prance around in front of the mirror imagining that it was my hair and that I was finally beautiful.... I look back now and realize how much time I wasted.... We are never inadequate."

Union played lots of sports growing up and has always been a healthy eater. "During the [Maxim] shoot we had Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, collard greens, biscuits, all that. People told me, 'Normally the girls don't eat.' I said, 'Well I'm eating.'" When asked whether she would consider insuring any of her body parts Gabrielle said, "I barely have dental! I want to see what's going on with Obama and that public option. But I don't know if his plan is going to cover my teeth. Or my ass."

Italian GQ September 2003

Kate Bosworth, Kerry Washington, Zooey Deschanel, Alison Lohman, Sophia Myles, Joy Bryant wearing pretty clothes for Italian GQ, back in September 2003. A translation of the Italian text accompanying the photo:

Kate Bosworth, 20, was a pro surfer in "Blue Crush", and continues to star in big movies, like in the upcoming "Wonderland" where she is the teenage girlfriend of John Holmes. Competing with this "biopic" would be "Without" and "The Human Stain", two of the four new movies in which appears Kerry Washington, 26, who dazzled in "Save the Last Dance".

Since her debut in "Mumford", the haunting Zooey Deschanel, 23, has won deserved fame, in her first lead role in "All the Real Girls", where she also stole many hearts. Alison Lohman, 23, with her sharp cheekbones could be the daughter of Michelle Pfeiffer, but it was her fine acting that impressed critics. Like in "Matchstick Men" and "Big Fish".

The Londoner Sophia Myles, 23, has spent most of her career in dramas by Dickens and Jane Austen. She will star in the sexy English thriller "Out of Bounds". Finally, Joy Bryant, 27, who left Yale to be a model for Tommy Hilfiger and Victoria's Secret. As demonstrated in "Antwone Fisher" she has the acting talent to remove the tag of "model" from her curriculum. The next year none of them will need any introduction. Read More......

Zooey Deschanel romantic and musical

In an interview with Girlfriend magazine Zooey Deschanel said, "I can't say for all of society but I'm a romantic myself. I like to believe that it is very alive and very well. And I know many romantic people!" The cute and quirky actress poses for In Style magazine, wearing a Ralph Lauren dress, as she gazes up at the sky with her sparkling blue eyes.

Zooey Deschanel in Self magazine wearing a Barefoot in the Park cotton dress. The actress has done movies like 500 Days of Summer, Yes Man, and Failure to Launch. "I'm a big Dodgers fan. I go to games all the time - I like to pack dinner, usually something salady that's healthier than ballpark food," Zooey told Self. "Nothing's better than a picnic. Next time you have one, try a quinoa salad. Mix cooked quinoa with silvered almonds, chopped dried apricots and currants and a raspberry vinaigrette."

Left, Zooey Deschanel at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival wearing a Lover's Disciple Mini Dress with Loeffler Randall shoes. Describing her taste in clothing as old-fashioned Zoe says, "I go shopping every week, literally. There's something about getting a new dress or shirt that makes you feel that extra 20 percent better." Right, Zooey with her sister Emily Deschanel at the Vanity Fair & Cotton Benefit for The Humane Society last December.

Zooey in a guest appearance on Emily's show Bones; getting ready to eat greens. While Emily Deschanel is a vegan girl, Zooey is allergic to dairy, eggs, gluten, and follows a mostly vegetarian lifestyle. On the possibility of working more with Emily, Zooey told Moving Pictures magazine, "I don't know that we'd ever work with each other on an extended basis - that's just inviting a lot of family stuff to come into it. So no, we probably wouldn't go out and do a TV series together. But it's possible we'll do something soon. That would be totally fun."

She has always had musical talent; Zooey wrote the music for, sang, played the piano, and modeled for a Cotton commercial: "Fabric of Our Lives" with singers Miranda Lambert, and Jazmine Sullivan. Deschanel is also part of musical group "She & Him". Their new album Volume Two has sunny folk-rock, with the songs that Zooey wrote over a period of one-and-a-half years, after the success of their first album. "The songs are more of a snapshot of a period of time than Volume One was," Deschanel told Paste magazine. There are no musical contributions yet from rocker hubby Ben Gibbard; the two of them married last year and went on a romantic Hawaii honeymoon.

The duo will be showcasing tracks from Volume Two at KOKO in Mornington Crescent on Friday 7th May, followed by a performance. Deschanel, who graduated from Santa Monica's elite Crossroads prep school, and played a groupie in one of her earlier movies Almost Famous, will portray the groupie lifestyle in an upcoming HBO series.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead vintage Hollywood

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is old fashioned in many ways. She loves a lot of old Hollywood movie stars like Natalie Wood and Audrey Hepburn. In this photo Mary Elizabeth glams up the Youth In Revolt premiere last January, with some retro fashion and hair. Winstead is wearing a soft mauve tulle dress, with her gorgeous hair styled in a retro bob cut.

In an interview with Saturday Night Magazine Mary Elizabeth said, "I'm definitely a vintage junkie. Everything I own is either from the '60s, or a replica of something from the '60s. The '60s is my kind of era. I love everything about it - the hair, the makeup, the clothes. It was a fun time for fashion. That's definitely my look."

Even Winstead's photos for mens magazines like Maxim (above left) are fairly tame as are the ones for Men's Health (above right). The Southern girl is firm about not posing nude or doing nudity in film. Mary Elizabeth is 5'8" tall and told Teen Vogue in 2006: "I consider myself a size 6 to be a pretty normal girl. I think actresses need to be more confident about their bodies, because I'm getting work right now and no one is telling me that I need to lose weight."

Mary Elizabeth Winstead loves her curves as much as the hot and curvy Sofia Vergara from Colombia. The two actresses were photographed together at Spike TV's First Annual 'Guys Choice' Awards in 2007. Winstead wore a black jumper dress over a red top. She loves to mix and match vintage with designer wear and says, "I'm a huge bargain shopper. I love Forever 21 and H&M."

Mary Elizabeth is not a party girl and is not seen too much on red carpet events or premieres. She gets movie roles the old-fashioned way; keep working hard and hope people notice. Winstead will star in the remake of The Thing with Joel Edgerton. Her upcoming movie is the romantic comedy/spoof Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, with Michael Cera, releasing on August 13th.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Saturday Night magazine wearing a Navy tube dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim, a Swarovski ring, and carrying bags by Michael Kors. Apart from an athletic body, which came from years of dance training, Winstead's trademark is her gorgeous hair. "It's long, just below my shoulder blades, with layers and thick, layered bangs. My hair is naturally pretty wavy, so it will fall into loose waves if I don't blow-dry it. I have blonde streaks just underneath my hair so it shows through the top layer," Mary Elizabeth told Sophisticate's Hairstyle Guide. She shampoos and conditions it every other day and says she has always been a girly girl, "Playing with fashion, hair and makeup has always been a hobby of mine."

Jessica Stroup warm and witty

Jessica Stroup was raised in North and South Carolina, but tells Complex magazine: "I'm Southern but I need to be out, making my own money, and impacting the world outside of my house."

AnnaLynne McCord with Jessica Stroup at Variety's 3rd Annual Power of Youth Event, last December. Both actresses star in the CW's 90210. In 2008 the show, and particularly Jessica, faced criticism for projecting an unhealthy body image. It started with Us Magazine using unnamed sources and some unflattering photos to claim that the already slim actresses, like Stroup and Grimes, were losing weight alarmingly. The mag hired a weight-management expert who estimated that the then 21-year old Jessica Stroup was 5'8" tall and weighed 100 to 105 pounds.

Left, Stroup as her character Silver on 90210, with long hair and extensions in the first season. Right, Jessica got a chin-length haircut like her style icons Sienna Miller, Agyness Deyn, Audrey Hepburn, and Edie Sedgwick. Stroup was at the Los Angeles premiere of Extract last August, wearing a short sleeve jewel neck gold sequin dress, matched with Emporio Armani gold-accented shoe boots.

Brittany Snow with Jessica Stroup at the Prom Night Premiere in Los Angeles in 2008. The two girls became good friends on the sets of this movie. Brittany Snow had an eating disorder and tackled it successfully, but Jessica Stroup is naturally slim and was upset by the insinuations of the Us magazine article. She resolved: "I didn't want people to remember the skinny girl, the one who had the eating problems."

And she did it by answering her critics, whether in the media or the general public. Jessica told Foam magazine of an incident when she was out grocery shopping with a friend, and two guys behind her picked up a magazine with her skinny photos and said, "God, look at how disgusting she looks." Witty Stroup turned around, and as the guys were doing a double-take from recognizing her, said calmly, "Don't believe everything you read."

Jessica Stroup in a See by Chloe's sweater dress for Foam magazine. From age 15 Stroup was doing modeling, mostly print advertisements for such brands as Velveeta, Honda, and Dentyne. But Jessica says, "I was raised in a strict Southern household in Lexington, South Carolina, and I remember sneaking off to watch Pet Sematary as a kid." The southern girl also went behind her parents' back to watch Beverly Hills, 90210. "They didn't want their little girl watching, you know, possible abortions on TV," she recalls, laughing.

Warm and witty Jessica does have an impact on the world through her film and TV roles. Stroup's character Silver was once diagnosed with the mental health bipolar disorder. After the episode, Stroup appeared on-screen to encourage kids to visit bipolar disorder websites to seek help. "There were people who really followed through who are now getting help," she says proudly.

Looking strikingly sexy in a tight fitted mini jersey dress, with a gold serpent brooch on the shoulder. She played volleyball and was a film student at Providence High School in Charlotte; Stroup even received a scholarship to the University of Georgia but chose to pursue acting instead. Her mother Judy lived with Jessica in LA for five months in 2004 till she could make it on her own.

Jessica Alba talking shop

Jessica Alba is talking shop....going to film screenings, talk shows, and doing interviews to promote her new movie Valentine's Day. Above Jessica looks pretty with that hair; the ombre effect dress is a Peter Pilotto scaled crepe from the Spring 2010 collection.

Jessica Alba at the Sundance Film Festival, dressed in a faux leather Carol Flare Coat, over simple denim and Prada Harness Strap Rubber Lug Boots. Alba was there for the screening of The Killer Inside Me, a violent movie in which she plays a prostitute.

Valentine's Day is a very different kind of movie with a huge star cast, including women like Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, and Queen Latifah. Not to mention all the male pairings for each of these girls! On her Twitter page Jessica Alba wrote: "check out the movie it'll put a smile on ur face."

Jessica Alba has baby time with daughter Honor Marie, taking her out to shop with her last month in Los Angeles. As Honor is starting to talk Alba has hired a Hispanic studies professor to teach both her and Honor Spanish. "God knows that I wish I was raised bilingual," Alba told "Siempre Mujer" magazine. "But it wasn't to be." The "Marie" in Honor's name comes from Jessica Marie Alba. Jessica is Danish-French from her mother's side of the family and Mexican from her father's.

Fashion winners at the 2010 Grammy Awards

Katy Perry looks pretty in this Zac Posen nude gown with gold flower decals, and a skin-tight fitting which shows off her curves. Perry said that the gold embroidery reminds her of India, which she visited with fiancée Russell Brand recently. Katy is also sporting a distinct paintmark/tattoo on her forehead like so many Indian girls.

Pink is seen wearing a floor-long white hooded gown over a leotard; this get up was for her amazing trapeze performance. Pink actually came to the red carpet in a strapless gray ombré mermaid gown. Taylor Swift also did a wardrobe change for her performance, but here she is wearing her red carpet deep-blue gown by Kaufman Franco, with off-the-shoulder detailing.

Looking delicious from her boxing workouts is Jennifer Lopez, wearing a Versace silver and white dress. J Lo's hair is a knockout and her makeup just right. Among the fashion winners is Lea Michele of Glee in her one-shouldered black dress by Romona Keveza paired with a feathery miniskirt.

Beyoncé Knowles wore a Stephane Rolland dress; peachy nude, with a zipper front, short sleeves, and geometric designs inspired from the Aztec civilization. On anyone else the dress would look ordinary. But this is Beyoncé, with her radiant personality and gorgeous body!
