Diane Kruger's favorite holiday is Christmas, known in her native Germany as Weihnachten, and she tries spending each holiday with her family back in Hildesheim. "I love Christmas. It’s my favorite time of the year."

You decorate it together while it’s still light outside. When the sun goes down, you light the tree. It’s a really beautiful tradition." Kruger could share her love for Weihnachten on screen in the French movie Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas), an enchanting tale of German, French, English soldiers singing Christmas carols together in an unofficial truce during World War I in 1914.

I can take my godchildren to park without getting swamped by fans. In the U.S., it becomes more difficult. There we walk down the street with my boyfriend, you get mowed down by the paparazzi. And it's painful to be photographed while jogging!" Such fame can only increase with Diane Kruger's recent naming as the global spokesmodel for L'Oreal.
With all the time she spent in France, from her modeling days, Diane Kruger got to the point where she spoke German with a French accent! Diane says that she rarely finds time to visit Germany, and even her alcoholic preferences are French: "I'm a big wine lover and living in France for half of the year spoils me in that domain, but I also love Italian wines."

Kruger will be seen next year in the Liam Neeson film Unknown White Male, also starring January Jones.
Her smashing body is the result of bare minimal workouts; she prefers outdoor activities like hiking, loves to cook, and does not diet. A typical Weihnachten meal, says Diane, includes, "roast goose, red cabbage and dumplings."
