Diane Kruger Weihnachten

Diane Kruger's favorite holiday is Christmas, known in her native Germany as Weihnachten, and she tries spending each holiday with her family back in Hildesheim. "I love Christmas. It’s my favorite time of the year."

Diane Kruger in a Michael Wirth photo shoot for Madame Figaro (2000). Describing the German version of Christmas, Diane says, "In Germany—unlike in America—you put the tree up on the 24th. You decorate it together while it’s still light outside. When the sun goes down, you light the tree. It’s a really beautiful tradition." Kruger could share her love for Weihnachten on screen in the French movie Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas), an enchanting tale of German, French, English soldiers singing Christmas carols together in an unofficial truce during World War I in 1914.

I can take my godchildren to park without getting swamped by fans. In the U.S., it becomes more difficult. There we walk down the street with my boyfriend, you get mowed down by the paparazzi. And it's painful to be photographed while jogging!" Such fame can only increase with Diane Kruger's recent naming as the global spokesmodel for L'Oreal.

With all the time she spent in France, from her modeling days, Diane Kruger got to the point where she spoke German with a French accent! Diane says that she rarely finds time to visit Germany, and even her alcoholic preferences are French: "I'm a big wine lover and living in France for half of the year spoils me in that domain, but I also love Italian wines."

Diane Kruger looks delectable in a midnight-blue sequined dress from Chanel's fall 2009 couture collection, with a white-gold Chanel Joaillerie Necklace, and smart strappy sandals at the 'Fete d'Hiver' benefit for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Kruger will be seen next year in the Liam Neeson film Unknown White Male, also starring January Jones.

Her smashing body is the result of bare minimal workouts; she prefers outdoor activities like hiking, loves to cook, and does not diet. A typical Weihnachten meal, says Diane, includes, "roast goose, red cabbage and dumplings."

Sandra Bullock turned blonde for her new movie The Blind Side, which color neither she nor her husband Jesse James liked. Sandra was not keen on doing the movie either: "I didn't trust it. I thought it would be schmaltzy and soft."

But the true story football drama, about a white woman who adopts an African American high school student, has become the number one grossing movie at the box office this weekend.

"The movie has already done more than twice what we expected," says Jeff Goldstein of Warner Bros., which released The Blind Side. "We knew Twilight was going to get the younger females. So we went after the older ones. But everyone turned out...... I don't think Sandra is America's sweetheart; she's the world's sweetheart."
