Rachel Mcadams fitting

Pretty Rachel McAdams told the Toronto Star, "I love to get dressed up. If I could just wear a dress and my cowboy boots every day of my life I'd be pretty happy."

But in her new movie Sherlock Holmes, which opens December 25, Rachel had a tough time fitting into the period costumes worn by her character Irene Adler. "Beautiful! Tight, but beautiful... Like satin dresses with the big bustle off the back and corsets — hard to breathe."

But to squeeze into those tight dresses McAdams says, "I had to rely on yoga exercises! Don’t get me wrong, I’m such a girly girl, I was in heaven being dressed in these incredible costumes. But it was like something out of Gone With The Wind. I’m holding onto the trailer door trying to eek out just a little bit of space so that I can speak properly. Each morning, they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank – that’s how they managed to squeeze me in every day."

Rachel has always been a Yoga aficionado and tries fitting these exercises in her schedule because, "it gets all of the cobwebs out, clears your head and opens up your imagination."

Rachel McAdams was recently included in Forbes' top ten "Best Actresses for the Buck" list, along with A-listers like Naomi Watts, Jennifer Connelly, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep. Like many of her other movie roles McAdams is brunette in Sherlock Holmes but goes around in her natural dirty blonde hair for public events like the opening of After Miss Julie on Broadway last month (above photo). Rachel calls herself a dinosaur for all the online/technology stuff; she doesn't have a Twitter and is not on Facebook. "I'm still trying to figure out my email."

Fashion fiesta at the 2009 AMAs

Demi Lovato looks appealing in a pastel Jenny Packham dress with a crystal embellished neckline at the 2009 American Music Awards. Absent in London Taylor Swift won four AMAs and the late Michael Jackson also won four AMAs, received by his family members. But the real fun was on the red carpet, where there so many pretty dresses:

Selena Gomez looked sweet in a silver Talbot Runhof gathered dress, a silver clutch and strappy black sandals. Her hair was just divine! Carrie Underwood also donned strappy heels, held a metallic clutch, and looked cute in an embellished Theia dress.

Rihanna wore a black Marchesa gown with delicate floral patterns.

The curvy girls also looked good. Kelly Clarkson sparkles in a black rhinestone dress, while bootylicious Sofia Vergara looked so ladylike in a soft pink gown by Amelia Pucci.

Completing the fashion fiesta at the 2009 AMAs is the vivacious Kristen Bell, a presenter at the awards show, in a strapless metallic Christian Cota dress.

New Moon girls looking good

Ashley Greene at the LA premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in the Mann Village Theatre on November 16, 2009. Cute and athletic Ashley Greene is wearing a red Prabal Gurung gown with shoulder detail and large hoop earrings.

Kristen Stewart also went with a gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Young Dakota Fanning, making her debut as Jane in the Twilight movies, looked real pretty on the red carpet. Dakota matched her cute red platforms with a lacy Valentino strapless mini dress.

Nikki Reed, who doesn't like wearing dresses or heels, came in a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 ice-blue dress and belt, with Christian Louboutin Josefa sandals. The original dress looks good on model Chanel Iman to the right. It would've looked good on Nikki too if her stylist hadn't ruched it up so much, or maybe Reed just isn't skinny enough to carry off this dress......(runs for cover!)

Demi Lovato girl power

Demi Lovato says her new single Remember December is for all the girls out there. "The music video relates to the song in a way that a girl has so much to say to the guy, and it feels like he's not listening, and she wants him to remember everything that they had," Lovato told MTV News. "And so instead of having a love interest in this video, it's all about being fierce and kind of, like, taking control as a girl. It's like girl empowerment. Yeah, divas!"

Demi Lovato in the latest 'Got Milk?' campaign. "I love drinking milk because it keeps me lean and strong. Not only that, it keeps my hair and nails healthy," says Lovato in the ad. Milk is good for girls because of its bone strengthening calcium. Demi Lovato is an on/off vegetarian posting on her Twitter: "Seriously debating whether or not I should become a vegetarian again. I just don't like meat. Yeah think I'm gonna do it. Meat just makes me feel weighed down, you know?"

Disney darling Demi Lovato is known for her music, her TV sitcom Sonny With A Chance, and her movies. Recently a rumor says that Demi will kiss Joe Jonas in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The rumors also enter into real life and claim that the two singers are dating, but Demi has denied this. She wears a purity ring and is close to her family: "I've got a great family. My support system includes my best friends, which now includes my cast, and I went to church every Sunday. My faith is strong, and my parents are incredible. They're there for me. I can talk to them about anything, no matter what."

Demi Lovato wearing a pretty red prom dress in Seventeen magazine. The prom dress is from the 'Night Moves' collection by Allure and available in most US stores. Demi puts on a Charles and Victoria jacket, the necklace is by Roxanne Assoulin for Lee Angel, and the ring by Kenneth Lay Jane. "I like to wear read and black! They make me feel so sophisticated," Demi told the magazine.

Lovato thinks that former Disney star Hilary Duff has been a good role model. "I mean, I'm sure she made mistakes, but you never saw them. I think it's really cool that someone can grow up and continue to be looked up to by young girls." In keeping with her own fan base of tweens and teen girls, Demi is mindful of what image she projects: "Sometimes when I want to wear a really hot skirt or something, I think, ‘Would you want your little sister to wear that skirt in two years? No'."

Yvonne Strahovski technical gene

Yvonne Strahovski inherited her good looks from her parents but not their technical expertise. "My parents both have scientific backgrounds," she notes. "My mom is a lab technician, and my dad is an electronic engineer."

But the technical gene came through in Strahovski's love for the sci-fi genre. "I grew up around that, and I do enjoy SF movies and television. What appeals to me [about the genre] is that it’s about exploring your imagination and how far you can go with things, imagining what life could be like if the world were different or circumstances changed or aliens came for a visit..."

Yvonne Strahovski looks smashing at InStyle Magazine's "Summer Soiree" at The London Hotel on August 20, 2009 in West Hollywood, California. Yvonne is wearing a Camilla & Marc striped "Phoenix" jacket, with a Philip Lim 3.1 ivory skirt, and red shoes by Aldo. The Australian girl's popularity has played a part in the renewal of the action-comedy TV show Chuck, which according to rumors may even come on NBC earlier than the previously announced date of March 2010. Season 3 could start as early as January next year, have six additional episodes to the scheduled 13, and feature guest stars like Robert Patrick, Angie Harmon, model Mini Anden (who was in season 1), and cute Kristin Kreuk.

Apart from all the spy gadgets and technical stuff, Yvonne Strahovski has a thing for the stunts and wire hanging. "It's one of my favorite parts of the show. I grew up really athletic, and I used to rock climb and hike. And I'm a tomboy in general, so all that physical stuff I absolutely love."

Strahovski's action-thriller movie The Canyon is in theaters and on DVD, showing her climbing treacherous cliffs, and fighting off rattlesnakes and a hungry pack of wolves. Yvonne will take digital form and appear in the video game Mass Effect 2, to be released for the PC and Xbox 360 on January 26th.

2009 CMA Awards fashion winners

The 2009 CMA Awards were hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley at the Sommet Center on November 11, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. Carrie came dressed in a platinum jeweled Theia gown, but had many costume changes through the show, like when she belted out a rocking performance of Cowboy Casanova.

Another excellent performance at the 2009 CMA Awards was by Miranda Lambert singing White Liar from her latest album "Revolution". On the red carpet Miranda Lambert was a fashion winner, dressed in a metallic black Nicole Miller gown complemented with jewelry by Tiffany & Co.

Kellie Pickler also went metallic in a David Meister gown, showing off her new red hair. "It’s been interesting with red hair cause you can’t wear the same things," Pickler told People. "It's an excuse to go shopping!"

Nicole Kidman came out in support of husband Keith Urban, who shared the award for best musical event with Brad Paisely for their duet Start a Band. The organic Nicole Kidman wore a cleavage revealing fuchsia gown embellished with subtle shimmer.

Taylor Swift was wearing a hand-embroidered sequined gold gown with tulle skirt by Reem Acra. Taylor also struck gold at the CMAs winning all four categories she was nominated in: Best female vocalist, album of the year for Fearless, best music video for Love Story, and entertainer of the year. Taylor Swift performed her first kiss song Fifteen and Forever & Always during the show. Swift became the youngest person to win "entertainer of the year" at the CMAs for her impressive performance during the preceding year. Looking down at her dad in the audience, Taylor said through tears, "I will never forget this moment, because in this moment, everything I ever wanted has just happened to me."

Kristen Stewart revelations

Kristen Stewart loves...."Eating with my fingers in restaurants. I kind of like getting the perfect amount of each thing into one bite. And it's easier to do that if I pick it up." More revelations of the Twilight actress as the build up to New Moon continues.

Kristen Stewart poses for Interview Magazine. In everyday life and even on the red carpet Kristen is not into wearing pretty dresses: "Fashion is not something I think about. I'm not a big shopper. My style is T-shirts. My favorite ones are my brother's old worn-out ones. I get my shoes on eBay. The only way for me not to have somebody know where I went the night before is if I didn't go out at all. So that's what I'm trading."

On her Twilight character Bella being a role model for teen and tween girls, Kristen says, "The fact that she's normal and the most typically relatable thing is that she's awesome and she doesn't know it. And she's very sort of confident, but also not arrogant. It's a weird thing to be. I think she also has a lot of innately female qualities that for a character in literature I think it's awesome that so many girls can look up to her because she's fickle and unabashedly."

Kristen Stewart smoking during a break from doing press for New Moon in LA. Not a good example to set for teens and tweens! She hasn't been a smoker for long, because in a 2007 interview with Girls' Life, Kristen talked about using herbal cigarettes in the movie Land of Women: "I don't smoke, so it was kind of nasty, even though they were herbal cigarettes. It got in my eyes. Oddly enough, I think they're made of cabbage and lettuce." I think she picked up the habit while dating a certain someone.

On the rumored relationship with Robert Pattinson, Stewart goes mum on any revelations, "I made the decision last year to keep my private life to myself. I can't do anything about all the speculation. I know what is true and that is all that matters."

In her personal life Kristen Stewart is a good enough role model; she doesn't go to bars, loves dogs, supports charities, lives at home with her parents, and wants to continue with her education. "I know it's a little late and I'm a little old, but I just finished high school—with honors. The other day I was doing a graduation scene on Eclipse, and I had just finished high school myself the week before, so I told the crew, Hey, just so you know, I'm actually graduating right now, and I'm not going to have another ceremony. So I took a mock picture with an extra. I literally asked the actor to come back and shake my hand and hand me the diploma while I was dressed in a cap and gown."

Leighton Meester malignant rumors

Leighton Meester on the set of Gossip Girl, the show where rich bitchy girls spread rumors about each other. Lately the CW network has been busily spreading a rumor about the show, that next week's episode will feature a threesome! But this rumor could turn malignant, causing unintended harm, if the Parents Television Council (PTC) have their way.

Leighton Meester and Blake Lively in a promo shoot for Gossip Girl. "Gossip Girl routinely depicts teenagers engaging in promiscuous, consequence-free sexual behavior, and that's bad enough," PTC president Tim Winter wrote in an open letter to The CW network. "But will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers engage in behavior heretofore associated primarily with adult films?"

Since the scene won't be graphic, there's little chance of the episode being canned or the show facing any fine. And it's not true that teenage girls blindly ape what they see on TV.

Meanwhile Leighton Meester has been fighting off malignant rumors about her past. Like the rumor that she was born in prison...not true! Leighton says she was born in hospital. And about her family's prison-and-drugs past Meester says it's all a big exaggeration, "We had big thanksgiving dinners, with all of us at the table. I mean, how normal can you get?"

Leighton's upcoming movies include The Roommate and Date Night, and she collaborated with R&B singer Robin Thicke on her new single Somebody To Love. Another rumor concerns a chick flick titled Cowboy Bandits, which Meester may be starring in with Amber Heard, the blonde Megan Fox.

Leighton Meester at the 2009 New York Public Library Library Lions Benefit on Monday, wearing a powder blue dress with a massive rosette and black fluffy shoes. The unusual dress is by Indian designer Prabal Gurung. The shoes look a little goofy....and speaking of shoes, Leighton Meester says that she got her toned and shapely calf muscles from walking so often in heels!

Diane Kruger unconventional

Diane Kruger arrives at the dinner party for Jason Wu, after the preview of his spring 2010 Cocktail Collection in Los Angeles, on October 27. Diane is wearing a pretty green and black dot printed dress by Jason Wu, with a one shoulder neckline. The rest of her look is unconventional, like that fur! Hope it's fake.....does it really get that cold in LA?

Diane is wearing white satin Roger Vivier heels and her stylish black clutch is by Hunting Season. Diane Kruger first met Jason Wu when she requested a dress of his for a photo shoot last year. "I liked a dress from his collection for Cannes and my publicist called up and asked about it. Before I knew it, he showed up with the dress and fitted me for it right then and there. I thought it was so refreshing, you know?"

Diane Kruger in the Peek & Cloppenburg Fall/Winter 2009 campaign, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski. Former model Diane Kruger is a fashion machine, looking fantastic on the red carpet and in photo shoots. Below Diane Kruger in the November 2009 InStyle Magazine, Czech edition:

Diane Kruger is dating, and living with, actor Joshua Jackson but has unconventional views on marriage. "I've come to realise that love and commitment are not about whatever paper you sign, and it's certainly not about religion, at least not for me," Diane Kruger tells Manhattan magazine. "It's about what is in your heart."

Eva Mendes, Diane Kruger, and Camilla Belle at the CFDA-Vogue Fashion Fund Event. Diane goes unconventional, wearing a cute sailor outfit, her blue blouse paired with a black bow and navy shorts. On her own fashion sense, Diane Kruger told Interview Magazine, "Because I worked in fashion, I know that I like fashion. Haute couture is a form of art that I can appreciate. I'm definitely not someone who wakes up every day and thinks about what I'm going to wear, but on the red carpet, it's reflective of the mood I'm in, or the movie I'm going to represent."
