Pretty Rachel McAdams told the Toronto Star, "I love to get dressed up. If I could just wear a dress and my cowboy boots every day of my life I'd be pretty happy."
But in her new movie Sherlock Holmes, which opens December 25, Rachel had a tough time fitting into the period costumes worn by her character Irene Adler. "Beautiful! Tight, but beautiful... Like satin dresses with the big bustle off the back and corsets — hard to breathe."

But to squeeze into those tight dresses McAdams says, "I had to rely on yoga exercises! Don’t get me wrong, I’m such a girly girl, I was in heaven being dressed in these incredible costumes. But it was like something out of Gone With The Wind. I’m holding onto the trailer door trying to eek out just a little bit of space so that I can speak properly. Each morning, they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank – that’s how they managed to squeeze me in every day."
Rachel has always been a Yoga aficionado and tries fitting these exercises in her schedule because, "it gets all of the cobwebs out, clears your head and opens up your imagination."

Rachel McAdams was recently included in Forbes' top ten "Best Actresses for the Buck" list, along with A-listers like Naomi Watts, Jennifer Connelly, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep. Like many of her other movie roles McAdams is brunette in Sherlock Holmes but goes around in her natural dirty blonde hair for public events like the opening of After Miss Julie on Broadway last month (above photo). Rachel calls herself a dinosaur for all the online/technology stuff; she doesn't have a Twitter and is not on Facebook. "I'm still trying to figure out my email."
