Dominique Swain

Cherubic Dominique Swain is 28 but still has her famous teen nymph looks.

While studying at Malibu High School, Dominique was so determined to be an actress, that she sent an audition tape to the producers of the controversial 1997 movie Lolita. Based on Vladimir Nabakov's shocking novel the movie explored a middle-aged professor, Humbert Humbert's (played by Jeremy Irons), intense sexual desire for young girls.

"I was only 14 at the time and quite naive...I never had any sexual experience before shooting the film," said Dominique of the sex scenes with Jeremy Irons. "My hips were moving but I didn't know what I was doing."

Lolita was criticized for defending paedophiles and encouraging child abuse, and every single American distributor refused to show the movie. It was later only seen on cable. That same year Dominique Swain played an actual non-sexualized teen in John Woo's Face/Off with Nicholas Cage and John Travolta.

Among Dominique Swain's more recent film roles have been in last year's western Praire Fever with Kevin Sorbo, Felicia Day, and Jillian Armenante. Swain is 5'9" and was a sporty girl in school, taking part in sports like softball, swimming, track and soccer. In 2007 Dominique appeared in the snowboarding movie White Air, which unfortunately did not have her playing the role of a female snowboarder but only as a male snowboarder's girlfriend.

Dominique was also in the Justin Timberlake 2007 hit Alpha Dog with other hot girls like Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde. Olivia Wilde had become famous for kissing Mischa Barton on the lips in The OC, but Dominique Swain played her share of lesbian and bisexual characters much earlier. In the 1998 movie Girl Dominique kissed Tara Reid. "She's got nice soft lips and we got along very well," Dominique said later. "Tara and I were living together, actually. We were just really close, so it wasn't uncomfortable at all."

In the 2002 movie New Best Friend, which had many scenes of girls making out and dancing close together, Dominique had a lesbian love scene with Mia Krishner. Swain even became a lesbian icon for a while but is straight, although she admits, "I think everyone goes through a really exploratory stage."



This year Dominique Swain will be seen in the horror movie Trance, the comedy Stuntmen, and the action-thriller The Girl from the Naked Eye.

Claire Danes

Ouija is a Schnoozle, a cross between a schnauzer and a poodle. Ouija is her first pet and Claire got pretty close to it saying, "I understand why people have dogs. Better to have a dog than a baby."

Sweet Claire Danes has been acting since the age of 12. She became popular in the 1996 Romeo and Juliet opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, when she was only 16. Claire took time off to for her education, doing two years of psychology in Yale, which she did not complete.

More recently Claire Danes was in Stardust (2007) and last year's Me and Orson Welles with Zac Efron.

"Plus I have a real weakness for animals on clothing, and hearts and stars. My mom had a nursery school in our loft and a pretty healthy appreciation for kitsch, so I think I appropriated that."

Among the designers whose clothes Claire Danes likes wearing are, Jane Mayle, Narciso Rodriguez, who designed the outfit she wore to the Oscars at the age of 17, and Zac Posen, a neighborhood friend who sketched pieces for her back when they were in high school. "I do genuinely, objectively, if that's possible, love their designs. I know how their clothes work on my body," she says, "and it’s a great excuse to just run over and say hi."

Beautiful Ana Ivanovic from Serbia. Ana is the current World No.5 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour and the reigning French Open champion. This photo shoot took place in an empty swimming pool, which is apt because Ivanovic learned to play tennis in such an abandoned pool. "It was impossible to play," says Ana. "But that's where I grew up practicing and it's where people still practice."

21-year old Ana Ivanovic has already won five titles in five years on the circuit and has amassed $US3.1million in prizemoney. Despite her gorgeous looks Ivanovic doesn't like comparisons with Anna Kournikova, the Russian beauty who never won a title in 9 years of playing tennis, but made loads of money because of her good looks and endorsements.

"There is not much of a glamour thing going on," she said. "I spend most of my days practicing hard on the tennis court. Photo shootings and these things are something fun to do in the off time, if I have a day off. Obviously, every time I get a chance to work with the professionals, the makeup artists, people I can learn from and find my own style, so that's definitely fun for every girl."


"I really like cosmetics; what girl doesn't?" she said in a recent interview with CNBC. "Then there's watches and jewelery. It's every girl's dream to have lots of makeup and jewelery."

Ivanovic has three multi-million-dollar contracts with sponsors: clothing company Adidas, nutritional supplement company Juice Plus and a Belgrade-based car dealership, Verona Motors. Ana, who now lives in Switzerland, signed a deal with the Swiss watchmaker Rolex. She also hopes to find cosmetics and jewelery sponsors.

"It's a nice way to get away from tennis and I enjoy getting my make-up and hair done," says Ana. "I spend a lot of time in a tracksuit or tennis clothes. The sponsorships are coming from my results and how you look doesn't help you win points."

"I really enjoy Japanese food and I love other Nobu restaurants around the world," Ivanovic said recently. She also eats Mexican food at Los Consuelos, and in La Quinta, and enjoys seafood when in Melbourne, where many of her relatives live. Ana's favorite Serbian dish is called sarma, which is cabbage stuffed with rice and meat.

Ana Ivanovic does deep breathing exercises before every match. And for winding down afterward Ana mounts a bike, or runs on a treadmill, and finishes by stretching.

The Serbian beauty is 6'1" and she does long runs, intense sprints, and weight training in the off-season. Ana's training while in season includes working with cable weights and resistance bands, frequent ice baths to rehabilitate muscles and keep her core strong. Ana Ivanovic's fitness coach Scott Byrnes says she has an unusually flexible rotator cuff. "She tends to get unnatural movements in that area, resulting in irritating tears in the small muscles. We’ve had to do a lot of work on stability there."



"I agree that there are no rules and deadlines," Ivanovic said recently about falling in love. "It is something that happens spontaneously. One cannot plan it." She began dating Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in mid-2008 but reportedly broke up with him this year at the Australian Open. Ana Ivanovic received a marriage proposal during her first practice session for the Brisbane International, early this month. A teenage ball boy, overcome with passion, sang a song he wrote for Ana as she signed autographs and then proposed marriage. Ivanovic smiled and replied: "Maybe when you're older."

In other sports Yelena says she like to watch football and supports the Ukrainian football team, but admits that Brazil is the best in that sport. "The Brazilians play excellent football and they are very strong," said Yelena during the 2006 world cup. Yelena Isinbayeva lives and trains in Italy now and part of her family is Ukrainian; so she was sad to see her favorite team lose 3-0 to Italy in that competition.

Rebecca Romijn, 36, and husband Jerry O'Connell, 34 became first-time parents to twin girls on December 28. Rebecca, popular for playing a transgendered character on Ugly Betty, was previously married to actor John Stamos. Romijn is of Dutch heritage but was born and raised in Berkley, California. The green-eyed beauty has also done television commercials for brands like Clorets, Coca Cola and Macy's. Like many Colombian models, Karen's height is modest at 5'6", and her figure is 34-23-35. Carreno says that she loves eating: "I love chicken, fish, meat, sushi....and I'm addicted to chocolate."

To stay in shape Karen says, "I go to the gym three or four times a week and run 20 minutes." Plus she drinks lots of water. Jessica Stam is a 22-year old Canadian model.


Born and raised on a farm in Kincardine, Ontario, Jessica Stam was discovered by Michèle Miller and began her modeling career with a controversy. Jessica signed on with New York Models, and was the winner of the 2002 L.A. Looks Model Search Contest, even though she was technically ineligible to enter the contest as a Canadian citizen.

Jessica Stam was not paid her $100,000 winnings by LA Models and did not like the way her career was being handled by her agency. Stam legally disavowed her contract with New York Models in February 2003 and signed on with International Model Management, for which she was sued but the case was dismissed.



Jessica Stam almost made it to the list of supermodels with money in 2008, having earned $1.5 million in 2007. Designer Marc Jacobs named his handbag Stam after Jessica who has laos walked the runway as a Victoria's Secret model. This year Jessica Stam has signed a fragrance contract with Giorgio Armani's Onde, and has been hired by Korean fashion brand HAZZYS.

Jessica also has a very active love life...she has dated actor Harrison Ford's son Malcolm, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis, and DJ Adam Goldstein.

With a height of 5'10" and a skinny figure of 34-24-34.5, Jessica Stam is dismayed at the trend for thin models in fashion shows. "There are a lot of girls doing the shows who are very thin and frail," Jessica says. "I don't know if they are healthy or not, but I don't think the frail, fragile look is very feminine, and I don't think it's attractive."

Maybe what Jessica means is that she is naturally skinny, while other models are anorexic!

"People are eating organic food," Jessica Stam, who supports green causes, said at a fashion show in new York where designers used organic fabrics. "So why not wear organic clothes? It can't hurt to bring awareness to the designers, and the public, that there are alternatives to things that cause greenhouse gases."

Jessica Stam and Adrian Greenier have been promoting the new charity, Water, which builds wells in Africa since 2006. However last month Jessica Stam missed her co-hosting duties at the Charity Water benefit because of the flu.
