Alexis Bledel shoots

Alexis Bledel shoots for some new movies. After last year's Post Grad, the Hispanic-heritage actress will star in The Good Guy releasing on February 19. She recently finished shooting for Robert Redford's The Conspirator.



Alexis Bledel in a scene from Post Grad. Her long innings as sweet and precocious Rory Gilmore in The Gilmore Girls and her girlishly pretty face, may have affected her career prospects. Bledel told the San Francisco Chronicle: "I do get scripts for sort of sweet characters for family films. I think it just takes time. I have to grow out of my image, and it has to do with the way I look, too, which I can’t do anything about."

The Conspirator, which also stars Evan Rachel Wood and Robin Wright Penn, is about the Lincoln assassination and the trial of the conspirators that followed. The Good Guy is all about the stock market, success, greed, and the impact on family life and relationships.

Alexis told EW that she does not care for appearing in too many photo shoots: "It's not something I gravitate toward. I focus on the work. During photo shoots you do these stupid movements to make the dress look cute. Everyone's standing around watching. You just feel ridiculous sometimes. I don't like being the center of attention!"

Sara Paxton Beautiful Life

It's the longest Sara Paxton's gone without an acting job, ever since The Beautiful Life was canceled by the CW network.

In an interview with Latina Sara Paxton said, "You've got to have time to let a show get its legs and find an audience, especially when they're putting zero dollars into advertising. And we were slowly going in that direction. Everyday I was getting emails from Japan and Brazil and the UK from people who were buying the show on iTunes and were going nuts over it. And if they had just given it more time to really catch a fan base I think it could've been huge for the CW."

Paxton told WWD that she had an eclectic sense of style, where she mixes high-end labels such as Chloé with fast-fashion labels like Topshop.

"This is the first time I've actually met people in the industry or worn designer clothes," said Sara Paxton. "I have never even been to a fashion show. I just can’t even believe I get to live this life without actually living it. I’m superexcited to wear awesome clothes and meet amazing people. I knew nothing except for buying magazines at the grocery store."

The part-Mexican Los Angeles native, who has been modeling and acting since she was six, was left jobless and stranded in New York after the show's cancellation. "We thought we were going to be here until December. Literally we packed up our lives from Los Angeles to New York. I spent two months and thousands of dollars without a paycheck moving to NY. And now they just say, 'oh, peace, you're done?' We all signed 6 month leases, and now we all have to figure out how to get out of our leases, and I have to figure out how to get all my furniture back. I don't know what to do with this NY furniture."

But the experience of filming The Beautiful Life was not a total loss. Sara Paxton is now dating Nico Tortorella, her co-star from the show. She's also got her pretty blonde tresses cropped. Photo on the right caught Sara Paxton at the Anastacia Hair Salon in Beverly Hills early this month. Sara is 5'7" tall and has ambitions beyond acting, which include owning her own production company and studying history in college.



21-year old Sara Paxton has always kept her hair long, and should let it grow back. As a young girl she got to model in a series of Barbie doll commercials: "I loved those, because they gave me free Barbies afterward. I had every single one of them," Paxton remembers. "I was so sad when I got too tall to continue doing the ads."

Elizabeth Banks conservative

Zack and Miri Make a Porno star Elizabeth Banks plays a conservative CNBC analyst on the new season of TV's 30 Rock.

The first episodes will air in February. Elizabeth told Entertainment Weekly that she lobbied to get the part in the popular show: "I definitely put feelers out, like, I would love to be on your show," she said. "And they did it. I'm a huge fan, so this is a dream come true."

For beauty treatments like body hair removal Elizabeth prefers conservative shaving: "Waxing makes no sense to me, because you have to grow it out to wax it. My [bikini area] is all shaved, and she looks good. I use a nice exfoliator, like Dermalogica."

Banks replied, "No. But for a long time I wasn't taken seriously as a doctor or a lawyer. I couldn't be on ER because I was too blonde and cute. Apparently, good-looking blonde girls don't go to law school."

2010 Golden Globes style

Zoe Saldana's skin glistens on a rainy 2010 Golden Globes in LA. Luckily her ruffled maroon Louis Vuitton dress did not have any wet patches! Saldana's movie Avatar won the best drama and best director awards.



Diane Kruger's fuschia gown by Christian Lacroix at first sight looks garish, but the German-born actress is so pretty and has such style that she carries it off very well. The color and the design grows on you as you keep looking at it! Diane carried a white Raven Kauffman Couture clutch and came with beau Joshua Jackson.



Christina Hendricks from Mad Men fit her curvy body in this Christian Siriano Spring 2010 gown, embellished with Loree Rodkin jewels and matched by a Christian Loubuotin ‘Kephron’ silver clutch. On the right stylish Emily Blunt wore a Dolce & Gabbana sweetheart neckline gown with soft tulle. Also carrying a silver clutch and adorned with jeweled cuffs.



So lots of beautiful dresses, but the prettiest looking girl at the 2010 Golden Globes was Olivia Wilde in her striking cat-eye makeup. Olivia wore a black-beaded, plunge-front Gucci gown.

Julia Saner from Switzerland

Pretty Julia Saner is moving up the ranks to top model status in her native Switzerland after winning the Elite Model Look World Finals 2009.



On the left 17-year old Julia Saner at the Elite Model Look World Finals in Sanya, China. After winning the prestigious competition, Saner has been catapulted to global attention and has already appeared in Switzerland's fashion magazine "Annabelle" (above right) and "SI Style".

From the city of Berne, Julia Saner was discovered by Ursula Knecht of the Option Model Agency in Zürich. When she won the international title Julia was still in school, and despite her success and intense media scrutiny, has every interest in completing her education. "In one year I will finish my high school diploma. Until then I will step slowly in the modeling industry - and then I will just take off!" Last November Julia walked on the runway at the 10th Swiss Textiles Award wearing Rodarte, Erdem and Alexander Wang, the last of whom won the Stella Contemporary Fashion Award 2009.



Pretty brunette Julia Saner, with her grey-green eyes, is nearly six feet tall (181 cm). And being born in the land of cheese and chocolate did not turn her into a Swiss milkmaid.......Julia Saner's body measurements are bust 81(32), waist 60(23.5), and hips 91(35.8). The naturally slim model admits that skinny girls are favored by designers because clothes fall better on thin frames. Julia Saner says she lost seven kilos to get ready for the Elite Model Look contest in Switzerland, but insists she is not anorexic. Her manager Ursula Knecht adds, "My girls are absolutely healthy! They do not eat junk food, just lots of vegetables."



Julia says she is into exercising and does running and biking for her aerobics. "It is important to train for about 30 minutes. Only then, the body can burn fat." Saner also does Pilates and is into jazz dancing, which she claims is good for her posture. Julia Saner is thinking of moving to New York for her modeling career, but will keep using Skype and Facebook to keep in touch with family and friends. She does not have a boyfriend and avoids alcohol: "I drink from time to time a glass of fine wine with a meal. A woman's drink, like a 'Eve Litchi' or 'Engel beer', is also okay."

Missy Peregrym Copper

Missy Peregrym finally gets to play the lead role in a TV show! The 27-year old Canadian actress was seen on Heroes and played the female lead in Reaper:



When Reaper was canceled after two seasons Missy Peregrym said, "We're disappointed that we won't be coming back but are grateful for the memories we have from the last two seasons. For me, it was more than just a job since I was able to go back home, where I spend the majority of my life, and spend a couple years with my family and friends. It really was the biggest blessing!! I have no idea where I'm going next, but I look forward to whatever it is."



Missy Peregrym plays the lead in Canadian cop drama Copper, which will air on ABC this year. Copper is about five young rookie cops just out of the police academy, but centers on Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym) who comes from a police family. The female-centric drama has snazzy uniforms (above), gripping drama, and plenty of action. Missy Peregrym has said before, "I really am passionate about young girls and them respecting themselves."



Missy last had a major role on the big screen in the sports comedy Stick It, which allowed her to showcase her athletic background. But not without intense workouts. "I was ripped," Peregym told Toro magazine. "If I was taking protein shakes, I would've become a man." But there was also a funny side to all the working out: "When you're running around and doing gymnastics," Missy said, "you’re going to fart – period."

Emma Watson wore this gold metallic Burberry Prorsum dress to London Fashion Week last year. It made the 100th spot on InStyle.com's list of the 100 Best Dresses of the Decade. As the face of Burberry, Emma Watson is featured in their Spring/Summer 2010 campaign....along with a surprise male model:

Some people are saying that in this photo, Emma's right leg has been digitally removed by accident. Though I don't see it. She's a skinny girl and her leg is behind Alex's left leg.

In some older interviews Emma has made her love for fashion apparent. "I just love clothes. I love clothes!" Watson told Women's Wear Daily. "I love, love Alberta Ferretti stuff. I love DKNY. I love Marc by Marc Jacobs. Abercrombie & Fitch just for really casual stuff, I discovered this week -- isn't that great? Nicole Farhi -- I love her. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful clothes."
