Selena Gomez embraced her tween fans in a group hug when she visited the Charnock Elementary School in Los Angeles, California on 'A Day Made Better' by OfficeMax early this month.

Seventeen year old Selena Gomez, singer and actress from the Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, has been named "Best Celebrity Influence" in the first ever AOL's JSYK Awards, which were decided after polling 9-15 year olds. Gomez also won for "Favorite Female Television Star". So what explains her popularity with kids?



Selena Gomez lets her hair down for Glamour Magazine, wearing a little black dress by Katy Rodriguez, a Kate Spade bracelet, and a long necklace by Fallon. "Selena is part of the brilliant Disney marketing machine," says tween social media expert Ashley Dos Santos. "That being said, they aren't making something out of nothing. Selena Gomez is the untarnished, multicultural version of Miley Cyrus."

I have pictures of her and Natalie Portman on my wall of inspiration for the clothes I want to design."

Earlier that evening the two virtuous girls teamed up with Julianne Hough and were seen at Maggiano's Italian restaurant. 2009 Environmental Media Awards fashion

This year was the 20th anniversary of the Environmental Media Awards, which honor film, TV, music, and other media that convey environmental messages in the most creative and influential ways. Singer Jason Mraz and Virgin Group chairman Sir Richard Branson were honored at this year's event.

Born in Lodi, Italy, on March 19, 1984, Bianca Balti has seen her lifestyle go from near poverty to sheer prosperity ever since she became a model. The blue-eyed brown-haired girl was studying to be a web designer at Milan, but found it to be a financial struggle: "I studied at the Polytechnic, Design of communication, but I had no computer at home, I could not do much." But once she became a model, appearing on the cover of L’Officiel in 2004 and in the Victoria's Secret catalog in 2005, Bianca Balti made enough money to buy herself a car, a house, and even get married!

Bianca says she likes getting tanned, but takes care of her skin, using plenty of moisturizer, and taking relaxing baths in the evening. Victoria's Secret will also open its legendary runway to the public as it holds casting events, in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago, to find the next Runway Angel. The age limit is 18-30 years and the minimum height requirement is 5'8". Ten finalists will be flown to New York City where the Victoria's Secret Angles will host the “Angel Boot Camp”, which will have a series of challenges to find the next runway angel. The Los Angeles casting event will take place Saturday in Westwood at 8:00 am.

Emma's desire to be just another student has not been realized yet. But Emma can't pass off as just another university girl; she has contractual obligations to fulfill. Recently Emma Watson became the face of fashion brand Burberry; she was required to attend the Burberry Prorsum fashion show at Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground during London Fashion Week last month. Emma Watson flew across the pond and attended the show wearing a gold metallic Burberry dress and Burberry heels:



Emma says, "It's quite intimidating knowing that every time you walk out of the door, someone is going to be judging what you wear. I'm hoping I won't get bogged down by Oh God, what's everyone going to think? But fashion is something I really enjoy."

Although previously Watson had sworn that she would never endorse a celebrity fashion line, now she has made an exception for the People Tree brand because of its humanitarian and environmental causes. "I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there."

The People Tree spring/summer 2010 clothing line by Watson is called "Love from Emma" and has 26 women's looks and 15 men's styles, aimed for the teen market. The line features 100% organic and Fairtrade certified cotton t-shirts and other fashion accessories. Organic "Love from Emma" clothes will be available in the market sometime in February 2010.

Last year in December the 37-year old actress gave birth to another daughter named Emery. "They treat her like she's a doll, so it's a bit alarming at times, but it's really been very easy," says Harmon of her older daughters. "They love her. We didn't have any of the jealousy."
