Seventeen year old Selena Gomez, singer and actress from the Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, has been named "Best Celebrity Influence" in the first ever AOL's JSYK Awards, which were decided after polling 9-15 year olds. Gomez also won for "Favorite Female Television Star". So what explains her popularity with kids?

Her new clothing line is called "Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez", made with the help of designers Tony Melillo and Sandra Campos. Selena told People, "Rachel Bilson is very classy. She can go to the gas station or walk the dog and still look gorgeous and very classic and chic. I admire that. I have pictures of her and Natalie Portman on my wall of inspiration for the clothes I want to design."

BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez out and about in LA on Tuesday, picking up some frozen yogurt at Menchie's. Earlier that evening the two virtuous girls teamed up with Julianne Hough and were seen at Maggiano's Italian restaurant.
