Ciara the Princess

R&B diva Ciara promises that her long-awaited album, "Fantasy Ride" which features the hot number Love Sex Magic with Justin Timberlake, will come out on May 19. "That day is perfect because I can make sure I can hold down the US as well as the UK overseas. Everybody gets it at one time," Ciara told Ed Lover of Power 105.1 in a radio interview.

Ciara Princess Harris, known popularly as "The Princess", wanted to be a model as a young girl before she set her eyes on becoming a singer. "I always sang in the mirror and in the shower," she said. "I knew I had something, but I was always a little shy about it."

The 23-year old's last album was The Evolution in 2006. Ciara's hot number Get Up from that album was featured in the Jenna Dewan-Channing Tatum dance movie Step Up.



"I take my motivation from athletes—basketball players in particular," Ciara told Men's Health magazine. "I love LeBron James because he's my age and full of ambition and drive." Born to parents with a military background, Ciara Princess Harris has Creole and Caucasian genes. At North Clayton High School Ciara was an athlete, running track and competing in jumps. She was also a cheerleader, which is the same thing as being an athlete, because for many people cheerleading is a sport!

Ciara cut out all these sports and extra-curricular activities and focused on singing. And despite getting only five hours of sleep in a busy day, Ciara keeps her weight under control by limiting her carbohydrates intake, working out, and drinking water.



Ciara Princess was only 18 when her first album "Goodies" came out in 2004. She is used to wearing baggy jeans, sneakers, and midriff-baring T-shirts. In 2007 Ciara became the face of Rocawear and now has ambitions of having her own clothing label in the future. "The ultimate goal for the clothing is to be affordable."

Rachael Taylor

Rachael Taylor is no Tasmanian Devil.

And though both share a home in Australia's island-province of Tasmania, Taylor is far removed from the beauty-challenged marsupial. Rachael is in fact a fox; and so pretty that she stood out and got noticed in Transformers, where her co-star was Megan 'the' Fox:



Both the Transformers girls have green eyes. Rachael Taylor grew up in the small town of Launceston (born 11 July 1984) and was Miss Teen Tasmania in 1998; at age 16 she decided she wanted to be an actress and boarded a flight for Sydney. Thinking about that now Rachael says, "It was really stupid, but I wanted to be an actor right at that moment. It's funny; when you're young and you sort of just jump into things, you don't really understand the ramifications of how difficult it's going to be to do your own laundry and things like that."

Naturally Taylor did not find work immediately and had to continue her studies. But when film and TV roles came her way Rachael left her study of politics and history at the University of Sydney, to pursue acting full-time. She starred in the 2005 Aussie soap Headland and did some modeling before auditioning for the role of computer geek Maggie in Transformers. The 2007 movie opened many doors for Rachael, who was then featured in Vanity Fair:



"You know, I go off and then I come home to the house I was born in and we sort of talk about the dog," Rachael Taylor, who now lives in LA, told Vanity Fair. "(My parents) genuinely really like their life in Tassie. They have this simple thing going on. I'm sure they'd love to come and visit me at some stage, but at the moment it just sort of seems like daughter's off doing this kind of mystical thing out in the universe somewhere and it sort of involves movie-making."

Rachael also starred in The Tourist, the horror flick Shutter, and will be seen next in Cedar Boys. The 5'8½" tall girl was never too much into working out but had to become more conscious of her body and appearance: "I am not super-disciplined because I don't think that is healthy, but I work out because I have to and I hate it. I detest lifting weights but I do it every now and then and I do some cardio. It's good for you and you need to do it as an actor and a young woman. So I do work out but I also give myself a break when I really can't bear to do it some days."



As for her appearance in clothes, Rachael says, "You often hear actors saying they only like jeans and tee shirts, but I really like to dress up. I like looking young and fun but ladylike as well. I like sophistication. If go out for dinner I want to put on a dress and high heels. I am not into the LA style of jeans and sneakers, although I do wear casual clothes during the day of course. I love Donna Karan and Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim and an Australian designer, Tony Maticevski."

Penelope Cruz says there is no rivalry between herself and fellow actress Kate Winslet, insisting that though the two pretty girls have met each other only a few times, they have become very close. Both actresses are nominated for Sunday night's Oscar Awards.

Lauren London was born to a white father in LA, but was brought up single-handed by her black mother. Lauren is from a modest family background and remembers a Christmas when: "I remember when I was about 11-years-old, we were all happy. I think my presents came from the 99 cents store. We didn't really get much that year."

She left school in tenth grade and was home-schooled while she pursued her passion for acting. "I grew up in an LA high school district and I did theater and I did drama, but I don't know any other way to do it. This is such a passion for me, it would have been different if I didn't do it then it would have been such a struggle," says Lauren.



As an 18-year old Lauren London made her first appearance in music videos like Pharrell's "Frontin'" and "That Girl". The money she made allowed Lauren to take acting classes while auditioning for film roles. In 2006 London was cast in the Will Smith-produced ATL, as rapper TI's love interest "New-New", and became very popular for that role.

While Lauren has been linked romantically with her co-workers and co-stars, she is still single.



After ATL Lauren appeared in other movies like This Christmas and Next Day Air. London was also cast in TV shows like Entourage (where she was Turtle's love interest Kelly) and Everybody Hates Chris. London also worked as a show host for BET's Rip The Runway, which she co-hosted with rapper Nelly. She will also be seen next in a leading role opposite Chris Brown in Caramel.

Lauren London is 5'2" and has a figure of 34-24-36. She keeps fit through dancing and her nickname is L-Boogie: "I'm really big neo-soul, hip hop fan. I like going to concerts like floetry. I love doing that on my downtime. I listen to music and hang out with my friends and try to read up on scripts and stuff." Lauren describes her beauty secret as "wash my face and keep it moving." In the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210, Lauren London plays the role of bisexual cheerleader Christina Worthy.

America Olivo

Attractive America Olivo at the premiere of her new movie Friday the 13th.

Her complete name is Ameríca Athene Olivo and she is also a singer and theater actress; Ameríca was part of the the band Soluna which disbanded in 2004. America Oliva then appeared in TV shows like How I Met Your Mother, General Hospital, and House MD. She also got roles in movies like Iron Man, The Thirst: Blood War, and The Last Resort.

Apart from Friday the 13th Oliva's other major movies in 2009 are Neighbor, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Bitch Slap. The last named movie is described as a parody of "B movies" with gratuitous sex, violence, nudity, and lesbian overtones. The girls of Bitch Slap:

Oliva has been featured in men's magazines like Playboy and Maxim, but despite this says she has always been a shy girl. "I was very shy," she recalls. "In college I wouldn't change clothes in front of my roommates. I'm a good Catholic girl gone really, really bad."

Katharine McPhee

Katharine McPhee (photo: Vegas Magazine), singer and actress, has signed a new record deal with Verve Music Group. "The album she is working on will show many new sides to her talents as an interpreter and a songwriter, and show everyone just how special she is," Verve Music Group president and CEO Bruce Resnikoff told Billboard. Katharine McPhee showed everyone how special she is in Season 5 of American idol, where she came second, but then went on to launch her music and acting careers.



Katharine McPhee's favorite designer is Dina Bar-El. McPhee dresses conservatively and says, "I have never been into the club scene, I wear underwear under my dresses. I have always been an old soul. I have a spiritual grounding that keeps things in perspective."

Katharine is a spokesperson for Neutrogena and her first major film role was in The House Bunny last year. She frankly admits that the American Idol audition process is biased towards people that are pretty. McPhee herself was voted the sexiest American Idol contestant ever by AOL members.

In high school Katharine McPhee was a varsity swimmer and took dance classes, but she developed a negative body image and consequently an eating disorder. "Growing up in Los Angeles and spending all those years in dance class, I'd been conscious of body image at a young age, and I went through phases of exercising compulsively and starving myself.....Food was my crutch; it was how I dealt with emotions and uncomfortable situations."

Katharine became bulimic, throwing up as many as seven times a day. McPhee eventually enrolled at Los Angeles's Eating Disorder Center of California and cured herself of bulimia after a three-month course. "I learned that there's no such thing as a bad food," Katharine McPhee tells People Magazine. "If you look at a doughnut, people think it's a fattening food – why? Because if you eat it you'll get fat? No, you'll get fat if you eat 10 doughnuts."

And my character was like, she's just insane. I mean she's not ugly, but she's kinda crazy messy, like really raw."

Isla Fisher Shopaholic

Isla Fisher stars in the new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, based on Sophie Kinsella's popular novels set in London. But the pretty actress is not particular about shopping for clothes.

In the movie, Isla Fisher plays a journalist living in glamorous New York City and drowning in debt due to her shopping addiction. The clothes in Confessions of a Shopaholic were styled by Patricia Field, who also did the wardrobe on the TV series Sex and the City. Isla Fisher's character Rebecca Bloomwood wears ultra-feminine mixes of purples, pinks, teals and yellows, and as Isla explains: "We did every designer from Todd Oldham and vintage Gucci to Prada and Vivienne Westwood. It's supposed to be over the top - a mixture of high fashion and high street. My own taste runs more to J Brand jeans, Alice+Olivia cashmere and Repetto shoes from Paris plus the slimming magic of Spanx."

But Isla Fisher told FHM Australia that in real life: "I'm a bag person and then a shoe person, but I'm not really into clothes. I'm not a big beauty girl."

I shop rarely and poorly, being a working mum but I learnt about the different styles of shopping — the compulsive, the trophy-hunter. There are people out there who dream of shopping, literally.

In this picture Isla Fisher is shopping in Los Angeles, where she lives with her companion Sacha Baron Cohen, and their daughter Olive. The family also has a home in London, where Sacha is best known for his comedic turns as Ali G and Borat. The two have been dating since 2002. Isla converted to Judaism, Sacha's faith, after three years of study and took the Hebrew name Ayala, which means Doe.

Fisher's own first name is Scottish, which is the heritage of her parents. Isla was born (3 February 1976) in Muscat, Oman, where her father was working as a banker with the United Nations. Her mother writes romantic novels. Isla Fisher was brought up in Perth, Australia, and started working in the entertainment business from the age of 9 when her parents divorced. She starred in the Aussie soap Home and Away and became an international star after her role as a psychotic nymphomaniac in The Wedding Crashers with Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and Rachel MacAdams. Fisher got the Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards for this role.

Though no longer living there Isla considers herself Australian. "I miss Tim Tams (chocolate biscuits) and Bondi (beach) and the smell of sunscreen. If you were to generalise about an Aussie, then I'm an example of one."



Isla Fisher is 5'2" (160 cm) and grew up a tomboy with her two brothers, spending time outdoors, laying on the beach and surfing. In 2003 she brought Sacha down to Sydney to give him surfing lessons. The money she had earned on the Aussie soap ran out after a while and Isla had trouble finding work even as a model. On one occasion she recalls, "they wanted me to strip to my bra and knickers and mime answering a seashell. I didn't do it."

"I definitely feel sexier after having Olive because even though everything's going south and essentially ruined, I feel like I'm a real women now. I'm a mum. I love being a mum, just love it." She was angry when people criticized her 28kg weight gain during pregnancy. "How something as beautiful and natural as pregnancy and weight gain during pregnancy could be completely unacceptable was beyond me."

I've never been a big fan of working out and I've never been a sporty person. I was always more of a bookworm, so I'm not good on the fit stuff. I know it sounds like a cliché but I've been blessed with good genes. My mum is little and I'm fortunate that I don't like eating junk food. I just don't like the taste of it.

Isla lost her post-pregnancy weight in time for Confessions of a Shopaholic because producer Jerry Bruckheimer hired a personal trainer for her. "The trainer said I had a really bad attitude towards exercise - like stopping when it hurt or got boring and having a cup of tea and a slice of cake."

Because of her red hair Isla Fisher says she is constantly mistaken for Amy Adams and Debra Messing. She jokes: "If Shopaholic is a hit, then it was Isla Fisher in the movie, and if it doesn't work out, it was Amy Adams."
